Tu, întuneric din care mă trag
decât flacăra îmi eşti mai drag
cu care lumea se mărgineşte
şi străluceşte
printr-un cerc oarecare
dar nici o fiinţă n-o ştie
peste aceste hotare.

Însă întunericul ţine totul
de la sine
chipuri şi flăcări, vieţuitoarele, pe mine
totul pe apucate
om, stihii şi fapte

Ba poate o gigantică forţă poate
ne muşcă alăturea în vecinătate.

You, darkness, that I come from
I love you more than all the fires
that fence in the world,
for the fire makes a circle of light for everyone
and then no one outside learns of you.

But the darkness pulls in everything-
shapes and fires, animals and myself,
how easily it gathers them! –
powers and people-

and it is possible a great presence is moving near me.
